TBT – Rockstar Table Tennis

Table Tennis? An Angry Chinese Man?

That’s right Warriors today I’m going back all the way to 2006 to look at this classic game Table Tennis.

Now when It came to hearing about this game I will admit and I did laugh at the idea of Rockstar doing a Table Tennis game but not only that but Rockstar venturing into the Sporting side of gaming which in my eyes would have been a Flop but damn I was wrong!

Rockstar released this game on the Xbox 360 back in 06 and then releasing the game on the Wii in 2007 which with the nunchucks as your battons resulting in performing better on that console.

This game was complex yet simple for its time and it is still a game that you can pick up and play at any time and not have to worry about the story or any game modes you just swing and hit the ball.

This game even consisted of an online tournament mode for you to take on your friends or people around the world to see who is the best at Ping Pong! And with 11 Characters to choose from there was no fighting into who’s playing with you as all 11 characters have different abilities and style of playmaking every match different.

Also, I’ve said this a long time ago but I think Rockstar was trying new things with games like the gameplay, style, mechanics and so much more to develop a bigger and stronger game which resulted in Grand Theft Auto 5 and this played a big part of it as in GTA 5 you can play Tennis and other sports (Golf, Arm Wrestling) and I feel if they didn’t venture out from the Sandbox gaming they do then those mini-games wouldn’t be in the main game at all.

That being said this game is still fun to play and now it’s on backwards compatibility makes it a fun nostalgia feeling to go back to this game and play a few rounds as Liu Ping (The Angry Chinese Guy)

And on that note, I’m giving this throwback a 3/5 Stars!
