What’s up Warriors and today I’m going to be throwing back to 2004 EA’s Need for Speed Underground 2.
The sequel to the best street racer that was available Need for Speed Underground 2 came out with better Cars, Upgrades, Tuning, and a better soundtrack!
The game entails tuning cars for street races, resuming the Need for Speed: Underground storyline. Need for Speed: Underground 2 provides several new features, such as a broader customization, new methods of selecting races, the “explore” mode in a large city known as “Bayview”
The player races around in his (Nissan Skyline GT-R) over Olympic City, the setting of Need for Speed: Underground. Then he receives a strange deal from a rather ominous personality (Caleb Reece) who offers him a spot on his crew, but “won’t take ‘no’ for an answer”. The player races off, after it, Samantha calls the player to inform him about the party, but during the driving the player’s car got ambushed by a mysterious driver in a black (Hummer H2), who blinds the player with his headlights, then totals the player’s Skyline, and the flashback fades out.
After this, you get a car for free and build your way up to become the best driver in Bayview.
The racing modes included in the Underground game are (Circuit, Sprint, Drag and Drift races)
The tuning on this game at the time was pretty good you chose car parts and installed them on your car and the better you made your car the more star rating you got on the car making people respect you more but also able to join higher levelled racers to beat them racers and earn more money to tune your guitar even more.
The soundtrack on this game was amazing and driving to every song on this game made you put the pedal to the floor but also it has music to suit everyone’s taste but The Doors/Snoop Dogg intro always gets me.
Out of Five?
I’m giving this game 3/5 Stars it was an improvement on the first instalment of the game and the soundtrack made this game more playable and is still known as one of the best racing games out there but it doesn’t beat Need for Speed’s Most Wanted (2005).
