What’s up Warriors and today I’m going to be discussing new music that has passed my ears for listening and that’s Rosie O Sullivan’s new single “Take Me as I Am”
Becoming well known at the age of 19 and hailing from Birmingham England only down the road from me she appeared on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent and making it to the Semi-Finals. She has now come back on the scene writing and making her own music for people to hear.
From the stories I’ve read of Rosie, it sounds like she was always destined for the music industry at a young age she grew up on Motown and Soul music as well as other sixies music, she listened to that music and consumed the energy of the music and it helped shape and nurture her musical imagination.
As Simon Cowell said to her in Britain’s Got Talent “A Real Authentic Soul Voice” and he was right I still remember Rosie’s rendition of “It’s a Man’s World”
Anyway back to the task at hand the new single “Take Me As I Am” is a powerful poppy song with some great strong vocals which definitely show Rosie’s influences in music she likes as well as the direction she wants to go with her music.
The vocals are strong and the lyrics basically are telling the listener to take Rosie the way she is there could be a hidden message behind this but either way, the song is great and definitely needs some radio time to give her the recognition she needs.
The song reminds me of strong ballads from the past I don’t really like comparing but this song feels like another “We Belong Together” or “Halo” which is pretty good being compared to big songs like these.
Out of Five?
For this song, I see powerful and strong vocals a catchy song title that after a few listens you will be singing yourself and a nice beat behind the vocals to go along with it. If this song doesn’t get the radio play it needs and deserves I would be shocked.
I’m giving this a 4/5 Stars! Well Done!
