Ursae – Trust

What’s up Warriors and today I’m going to be looking at new music and a new artist called Ursae.

So before we indulge in the music lets get some background info.

Ursae is a Brooklyn-via-Bay Area indie-pop project by artist/singer Andy Campbell. Campbell’s earnest songwriting, coupled with his experience as a producer, results in a left-of-center pop sound that blends DIY guitars with glittery synths and rolling 808s.

The arrangements are meticulous and clean but far from sterile, tactfully walking the line between RnB-pop and indie-rock. Ursae, Latin for “bears” (of which Andy is enamored), wants to be as direct as possible with his message; to Andy, it’s all about efficient storytelling. Ursae confidently turns out something refreshingly honest: pop that comes from someone who isn’t a perfect pop star.

The Song

Co-produced by Jeremy McDonald (Kevin Garrett, Beyonce) you can tell that this song has been back and two on the drawing board before becoming its a final concept as this song is well produced.

The effects on the vocals at the beginning are good and reminds me of a Khalid song as which isn’t a bad thing, the chorus is very strong with the Vocals and you can see where Urase shines within the song in this part.

The music video is different as well as it all takes place in hairdressers and you’re watching him change his hairstyle.

Out of Five?

This song is different and creative at the same time and with a well-produced song by big names makes this song more appealing and needs the radio play it deserves.

I’m giving this a 3/5 Stars!
